Full CTCSS, also known as "Private Line Tone(TM)" on IFERN (154.265mHz) deadline was January 1, 2006. CTCSS is 210.7 Hertz, or Code "M2" for both receive and transmit for MABAS Dispatch Center base stations, and CTCSS transmit for mobile and portable radios. PDF file, or HTML. |

MABAS holds a statewide license (Illinois) from the FCC for all six Fireground Channels and IFERN & IFERN2 for mobile use. Base stations (IFERN & IFERN2 only) will require individual base station licenses, but MABAS Radio Committee Co-Chairmen will help new MABAS Divisions file with the Coordinator and the FCC. |
